Farmers in Montana’s Daniels County are used to dealing with grasshoppers in the summer but, according to local media, residents say the 2022 infestation is the worst in recent memory, with some farmers carrying out pest control several times a day.

This video taken by Brent Somppi in Scobey on August 30 shows hundreds of insects emerging from grass and flying away as Somppi approaches.

On Facebook, local farmers posted videos and photos said to show piles of dead grasshoppers they had collected from their fields.
