Swans' Nest Rescued From Floodwater in North of Italy

A swans’ nest that was in danger of being swept away by floodwaters was raised to safety by firefighters in the north of Italy on May 1, ANSA said.

Video released by Italy’s national fire service, the Vigili del Fuoco, shows the intervention, as the nest, with six eggs in it, was relocated under the watch of the two parent swans.

The intervention was along the San Giovanni River in Verbania, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Credit: Vigili del Fuoco via Storyful
