Footage released by police in New York City on December 21 shows the moment two suspects, including one dressed as a delivery worker, approached a Bronx apartment where police say a couple and their grandchildren were held at gunpoint and robbed.
The New York City Police Department (NYPD) said the fake delivery worker wore a hat with the initials of United Parcel Service (UPS), hid a gun inside a parcel, and forced their way into a couple’s apartment when a woman answered the door.
The second suspect followed the first suspect inside the apartment, police said, where the pair demanded at gunpoint that the couple – a 60-year-old woman and her 63-year-old husband – use zip-ties to bind themselves and their two grandchildren, an eight-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl.
The suspects ransacked the apartment and fled with two iPhones, an iPad, personal documents, and more than $7,500 in cash, the NYPD said.
None of the victims were physically injured, police said.
