Suspect Arrested as Tiger Cub Put Up for Sale on Social Media

A man was arrested on January 23 after a tiger was advertised for sale on social media, police in Phoenix, Arizona, said.

The Phoenix Police Department said Carlos Alcaraz, 25, was arrested on Monday for game and fish violations.

Police said officers negotiated a price to buy the cub before serving a warrant and recovering it.

Sgt Brian Bowe told local media: “We don’t know if there’s a bigger ring for exotic animals. This is definitely just the tip of the iceberg as a potential, but our detectives will look into it and will want to identify if there’s a larger scheme behind this.”
