Surfer Takes on Raging River as Flash Flooding Hits Hawaii's Oahu Island

A surfer threw caution to the wind while taking on surging waters in Oahu, Hawaii, as large swathes of the island were inundated with floodwaters on Tuesday, March 9.

The Oahu Department of Emergency Management extended a flash flood warning for the island into Tuesday evening as public road closures and landslides were expected.

Hawaii Governor David Ige declared a state of emergency due to the heavy flooding.
