Surf Rack Blaze Breaks Out at Waikiki Beach

Some surfboard storage racks went up in flames on a beach in Waikiki, Hawaii, on October 17, sending plumes of black smoke into the sky.

The fire broke out near the Surfrider Hotel, Hawaii News Now said. Some 37 personnel extinguished the blaze in around 45 minutes, the news site said.

This footage, posted by Keiko Sono, shows the thick smoke rising from the flames.
