Supporters of Cuban Anti-Government Protests Rally in Tampa

Supporters of the anti-government protests in Cuba rallied in Tampa, Florida, on Sunday, July 11.

Local news reports said “hundreds” of people attended the rally along Dale Mabry Highway on Sunday.

Demonstrators marched in Havana and other cities across Cuba on July 11 to protest against the government’s response to COVID-19, a rise in cases, and economic hardships exacerbated by the pandemic.

Local media reported people having difficulty accessing “food, medicine, hygiene products and other goods and services.”

Cuban state media said there were pro-government gatherings in response to the demonstrations, after President Miguel Diaz-Canel made a television address in which he blamed social media campaigns for the unrest. Credit: The_hashtag_boy via Storyful
