Superstore could be getting a spin-off following the show's cancellation.

Earlier this month and following America Ferrera's exit, it was revealed that the NBC show would come to an end with its sixth season.

However, there is hope for the Cloud 9 store employees to return to screens, as Deadline reports a proposed spin-off following the characters of Bo (Johnny Pemberton) and Cheyenne (Nichole Sakura) is officially in the works at NBC.

The spin-off, currently titled Bo & Cheyenne, has been written by Superstore co-executive producers Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu and is currently in script development.

It would see Superstore series regular Sakura and recurring cast member Pemberton return as their respective characters Cheyenne and Derek 'Bo' Thompson, as they try to make big dreams happen on a small budget.

Cheyenne and Bo married during the show's second season and while Cheyenne has been a series regular since the first episode, Bo has only featured in 13 episodes.

Bo briefly worked at the superstore but is better known for his attempts at pursuing a rap career, making them quite the odd couple.

Superstore will begin airing its final season next month, with the finale to come in the spring.

Superstore season 6 will air from Thursday, January 14 on NBC.
