Sundog Shines on Freezing Morning in South Dakota

A sundog was seen shining on a freezing winter’s morning in Howard, South Dakota, on January 5.

Sundogs are “colored spots of light that develop due to the refraction of light through ice crystals,” according to the National Weather Service.
