Sukkot shelter in Tel Aviv commemorates hostages held in Gaza

A traditional shelter for people to dine in during the Jewish Feast of Sukkot was installed on Tuesday at “Hostages Square” in Tel Aviv ahead of the upcoming holiday.

The sukkah, or 'wilderness shelter', stands with empty plates, glasses and chairs in memory of those still being held in Gaza - and is adorned with posters of the hostages.

The shelter features posters of the hostages, and the gathering highlights the ongoing anguish felt by families. Sukkot, a holiday commemorating the time Jews spent in the desert, begins on Wednesday.
