The series is centered on Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has reinvented himself by representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and to survive, he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.
Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is happening while Suits LA slowly unravels the events that years ago led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.
Goulding will portray Samantha, a powerful entertainment lawyer in her own right who runs the firm that competes with Ted’s for top-dog status in Los Angeles. She’s also his ex-girlfriend.
Ghanizada will portray Roslyn, Ted’s loyal and straight-shooting secretary who’s been with him through thick and thin. She serves as a steady hand and sounding board as Ted navigates a new set of professional circumstances.
As Deadline confirmed exclusively last week, the series will see the return of Gabriel Macht as the character he made famous in the original series, Harvey Specter.
Aaron Korsh is the creator and executive producer of Suits and Suits LA. David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein, Anton Cropper, Genevieve Sparling, Rick Muirragui and Jon Cowan also executive produce. The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Goulding is best known for her recurring role in Season 3 of Netflix’s Firefly Lane. Additional roles include Netflix’s The Gringo Hunters, CBS’ NCIS: Hawaii, Syfy’s Reginald the Vampire, Fox’s Lethal Weapon, Netflix’s Lucifer and Get Shorty for MGM+. On the film side, her credits include Disquiet and Wifelike. She is repped by Stewart Talent and 42.
Ghanizada recently made her Broadway debut in The Kite Runner. On the television side, she has appeared in CBS’ United States of Al, Freeform’s Good Trouble, HBO’s Ballers and Alphas for Syfy. Ghanizada has also appeared in the films We Broke Up, Our Friend and Complete Unknown. She is repped by Buchwald and Atlas Artists.
