Sudden stand-off between police and Kurdish protesters in London's Whitehall
There was a stand-off between police and pro-Kurdish protesters in London's Whitehall on Saturday 23 April. The confrontation, which appeared suddenly, eased when the protesters continued their march in the direction of Downing Street. Some of he protesters were waving flags of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) or depicting imprisoned founder member Abdullah Öcalan.
