Students at the University of Hong Kong gathered on June 4 to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre.
This clip, posted on Twitter by Jennifer Wang, shows students brushing the Pillar of Shame sculpture on the University of Hong Kong’s Pok Fu Lam campus.
The Pillar of Shame was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiot in 1996.
Elsewhere in Hong Kong, police on Friday closed off large areas of Victoria Park, where a vigil for the massacre would normally be held. Crowds defied the first ban on the vigil last year, gathering on the 31st anniversary of the brutal 1989 crackdown. Credit: Jennifer Wang via Storyful
