Students from a village in southern India are forced to climb trees every day just to access online learning. The 40 or so residents of Perapancholai and Periay Kombai in Tamil Nadu can't get a data signal on the ground and so haul themselves into the branches of a banyan tree so they can connect. Aside from lunch or when nature calls, the students spend from 9 until 4 pm every day in the trees. According to local media, the students' parents want local authorities to improve the connection so that their offspring don't need to risk life and limb just to get an education.
