Strong Winds Whip US Flag as Blizzard Conditions Grip Northern Texas

Strong gusts of wind and heavy snow swept through Amarillo, Texas, as blizzard conditions impacted the area on March 17, the National Weather Service (NWS) reported.

Wind speeds up to 64 miles per hour were reported in the area. Visibility was also decreased to less than half a mile, the NWS said.

The Randall County Sheriff’s Office warned residents to avoid travel. “Please do not get on the roads. Zero visibility. Multiple accidents and power lines down,” the office said.
