Strong Winds Lash Parts of Okinawa as Powerful Typhoon Nears
A powerful typhoon was barrelling toward Okinawa, Japan, on Wednesday, August 31, according to the country’s weather service.
Footage posted to Twitter shows strong winds lashing parts of Okinawa’s main island.
According to Japan’s weather service, Typhoon Hinnamnor was west-southwest of the prefecture travelling at 20 km/h (12.4 mph), with wind gusts of up to 167 mph.
