Strong Winds Blow Over Outdoor Dining Tent in Denham Springs, Louisiana

A restaurant’s outdoor dining tent was toppled by strong winds in Denham Springs on December 13 as storms moved through southeast Louisiana, bringing winds of up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

This video was shared by Donald Fry, the owner of Locals Bar and Kitchen. Fry told Storyful he recently purchased three tents after his bar’s indoor dining service was forced to close due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“I literally just put the new tents up three days before this video,” Fry said. “We had the tents secured with anchors and tie-downs. We had just finished putting all the tables and chairs inside for the night.”

The tents were damaged and dragged about 300 yards, according to Fry. Credit: Donald Fry via Storyful
