Besides all the warm and fuzzy content coming your way this holiday season, there is also a round of stellar binge-worthy series and films hitting streaming services during the month of December.
Award-season darlings are starting to roll out, including the highly anticipated Netflix film "The Power of the Dog" starring Benedict Cumberbatch, who is already gaining Oscar buzz for his role in it. Another film touted for award season is Aaron Sorkin's "Being the Ricardos" starring Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
A second season of the Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated series "Emily in Paris" is also going to satisfy your travel itch as you see Emily (Lily Collins) take over Paris. And for fans of Carrie Bradshaw, the wait is finally over as the "Sex and the City" stories continue with the new series "And Just Like That," which premieres on Crave this month.

Encounter
A decorated marine, Malik Khan (Riz Ahmed) is trained to identify risk and threat, but what if the risk appears totally ordinary? This series is a Star Wars adventure that was teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian." Diary of a Wimpy Kid
The first book in Jeff Kinney’s bestselling series comes to Disney+ in the all-new animated adventure “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” Greg Heffley (Brady Noon) is a scrawny but ambitious kid with an active imagination and big plans to be rich and famous – he just has to survive middle school first. Swan Song

And Just Like That
In a new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series "Sex and the City," this show follows Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s. First two episodes stream on Dec. 9, followed by new episodes weekly.
The Suicide Squad
Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the country, houses some of the world's worst super-villains. In exchange for their freedom, prisoners join Task Force X and are sent on a mission to destroy evidence of a giant alien starfish. The film stars an ensemble cast including Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Sylvester Stallone, and Viola Davis. Streams Dec. 24.
