The story of Hollyoaks killing off Heidi Costello after Hollyoaks Favourites

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks viewers relived the shocking demise of Heidi Costello at the hands of her serial killer father Silas Blissett in the most recent Hollyoaks Favourites episode.

Wednesday's episode (June 3) was part of a week celebrating the notorious killer, in a three-parter focusing on his feud with nurse Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan).

Silas planned to exact his revenge on Lynsey after she'd knocked him out during fright night, but his plot went completely awry when he got confused by the fancy dress costumes.

The murderer thought he was attacking Lynsey in a Catwoman costume, but was horrified to find out he'd accidentally killed Heidi (Kim Tiddy) instead!

At the time of Kim Tiddy's departure from Hollyoaks back in 2011, she exclusively told Digital Spy that she felt it was simply time to move on from the soap.

"I've really enjoyed playing Heidi and I've loved my time in Liverpool, but after a year and a half, I felt like it was time to move on," she told us.

The actress loved going out in such a horrific way, recalling: "It was very high drama — I loved the whole Halloween theme and the fact that it was shot at night. It was exciting to film and to get dressed up as Catwoman!

"I also think the storyline leading up to it was very clever, and the twist at the end where Silas killed Heidi was great."

Also known for playing PC Honey Harman in The Bill, Kim Tiddy briefly returned to soaps in EastEnders as football manager Vivienne Martinez and also guest starred in Doctors.

Silas Week on Hollyoaks Favourites continues Thursday and Friday as the killer takes revenge on Mercedes McQueen following the death of his daughter, and then faces arrest.

Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 will feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites to compensate for the soap suspending filming.
