Storm Gyda Dumps Blanket of Snow on Town of Roros

Storm Gyda dumped piles of snow on the mountains in the southern parts of Norway. The Norwegian meteorological institute, Meteorologene issued a yellow warning for the area.

The storm began impacting Norway on January 12, as national authorities issued severe weather alerts. Late on Thursday, January 13 Meteorologene reported record rainfall in the western part of the country, with up to 125 mm accumulating in 24 hours.
