Storm Batters Raleigh With Hail and 70 mph Winds

Powerful storms brought high winds and hail to parts of North Carolina throughout the afternoon and evening of Thursday, February 6, the National Weather Service said.

Parts of North Carolina were hit especially hard by the storm system, which was affecting most of the southeast on Thursday.

Wind gusts of up to 70 mph were reported in Raleigh, according to local media.

A flash flood warning was in effect through 7.30 pm, the NWS said.
