The past year has been a difficult one for so many people, to say the least. But the importance of family and loved ones came to the fore, and rediscovering these connections—even if they were mostly virtual for a time—is a commonly cited silver lining of the pandemic. Now that families are starting to reunite in person once again, it’s time to celebrate these bonds with those closest to us. In honor of this sentiment, Harry Winston is launching a new high-jewelry collection based on an acronym of that storied word, love—L for Light, O for Obsession, V for Vow, and E for Eternity.

“Love is an incredibly meaningful emotion,” Harry Winston chief executive officer Nayla Hayek explains. “And given its complexity, we wanted the new collection to have dimension and to incorporate beautiful gemstones in vibrant hues such as red, yellow, orange, pink, and purple, in order to properly capture the dynamic and fiery emotions behind its inspiration.”

Contrary to what one might think, the Winston with Love collection is not intended as a bridal line. Instead, the jewelry house decided to look back to its history and focus on Mr. Winston’s own love affair with precious gemstones. Red rubellites, blue tanzanites, pink and blue sapphires, and rubies sparkle throughout—mixed with the ever-present diamonds, of course.

“Love is such an important narrative in our lives right now, and one that is truly fundamental to our brand DNA,” Hayek says. “It is an emotion that is deeply embedded within the history of the house, and one that we continue to celebrate through our extraordinary collections, which are often used to commemorate occasions of love. With the new Winston with Love collection, the idea was to explore this theme outside of the realm of bridal, to really capture the intense feelings behind the emotion. This creative direction allowed our designers to explore love in a way that felt new to the house.”

With this mantra as their marching orders, Harry Winston’s jewelry team focused on the essence of love for the motifs, which include intertwined hearts and sparks meant to reference the notion of love at first sight. All in all, the romance and longevity of the strongest word in our language is captured beautifully in this exuberant, joyous collection.
