Are liquor stores open on Labor Day 2022?
By law (and often because their liquor sales and distribution are controlled by the state), most liquor stores are, in fact, closed on Labor Day.
But there are many exceptions to this rule. If the store in question is not state-controlled, for one thing, it could remain open at the discretion of its owner.
As reported by Legal Beer, the following states do not have state-controlled liquor sales and distribution: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.
Still, you're better off just checking with your local store. In Kansas, for instance, liquor sales are not state-controlled, but liquor stores are closed by law on Labor Day as well as Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a few other holidays.
Are banks open on Labor Day 2022?
For the most part, no. You can expect most bank branches to be closed for business on Monday, September 5, because Labor Day is considered a bank holiday. But while brick and mortar locations won't be available, you can continue to use digital ATMs and online banking services as usual.
Is the post office open or closed on Labor Day 2022?
Labor Day is a postal holiday, which means post offices are closed. You shouldn't expect mail to be delivered on this day. Because Labor Day is an official federal holiday, all state and federal government offices should be closed on this day as well. (School's out too!)
What restaurants and stores are open on Labor Day?
Almost all restaurant and supermarket chains, drugstores, and national retail stores will operate under their normal business hours on Labor Day.
