“The Sticky”’s Margo Martindale Reveals Why She Never Wears Anything but Pink Underwear (Exclusive)

Veteran actress Margo Martindale is the first to admit she has a few superstitions.

"I have almost every superstition," Martindale, 73, tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "If anybody wants to tell me another one, I say, 'Please don't, I don't want to know it.'"

She does allow that some are more eccentric than others. "The last really insane superstition that I had was when I was having a fitting for Justified in 2010," the actress recalls. "I had on pink underwear and [the costumer] said, 'Pink underwear is good luck.' I said, 'What?' And to this day, I have never worn anything but pink. I have on pink underwear as we're sitting here right now."

Martindale, who stars alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the new Prime Video series The Sticky, shared a few more of her lasts with the magazine for One Last Thing:

Last time I danced
At my daughter Maggie’s wedding in May. I hadn’t danced in a long time, and the next day one of my toes was black. I really had a good time.

Last obsession
Many years ago I became obsessed with Timothy Hutton. I thought he was fantastic in Ordinary People, but there was something about his looks too. I never met him, but that’s okay, I’m over him now. 

Last recurring dream
I had one through my childhood and then in high school. It wasn’t good, an evil spirit was chasing me. It all stopped when I fought it off and I won.

Last wardrobe malfunction
I was on a set and washed some clothes in the sink in my trailer. I needed to dry my underwear, so I put them in the microwave, and they caught on fire. I had to call wardrobe and say, “You’ve got to find me some pink panties!”
