Steve Martin Teases a 'Star-Studded' Season 4 of “Only Murders in the Building”:“ ”'One of Our Best' (Exclusive)
Filming for the upcoming season is underway and will see the return of some familiar faces
With filming underway for season 4 of Only Murders in the Building, Steve Martin thinks fans of the show have a lot to look forward to!
“It's star-studded,” Martin, 78, tells PEOPLE of the new season, which has been filming in New York City. “And I'm going to say we're about halfway through, and we are really enjoying this season.”
"We think it could be one of our best seasons,” he adds. “Although they're all flawless."
Coming off of the season 3 finale which saw Jane Lynch’s character Sazz Pataki get shot, the upcoming season will find Charles (Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) “searching for answers about who killed Sazz, if they were actually aiming for Charles and why anyone would want to kill either of them,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
Season 4 will also include some familiar faces, with the return of Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd as well as a new cast of characters that includes Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis and Molly Shannon.

Gomez, 31, confirmed back on March 1 that the team was back on set with a photo shared to her Instagram Stories of roses she received from her costars, Martin and Short.
"We're so happy to be back with you, love, Steve and Marty," the sweet note read.
Showrunner John Hoffman told The Hollywood Reporter that season 4 will explore the theme of “consequences.”
“I think the idea of what you create is a thing you put out to the world, and sometimes you can’t be prepared for the repercussions of what potentially the world does with your thing, and how they feel about it,” he said.
“That’s a challenging line to walk, and sometimes you have to face it in that way,” he continued. “So, the podcast and everything else that’s happened, and what it all means, and what it could have been meaning all along. That’s a really interesting world to look at for these three who stepped in that way.”
Short and Martin took a break from their crime-solving characters to join Wells Fargo for a campaign highlighting the bank’s Active Cash Credit Card. In the spots, Short is seen picking up the bill on various outings in order to take advantage of the card's 2% cash back feature, though Martin assures PEOPLE that in real life it's “very, very even” between the friends.
Short jokes that when the pair does split the bill, he is sure to get the last laugh.
“The reality is that if we do split it, we agree on the tip, and I deliberately do $10 more,” he said.
