Stephy Tang nominated in two categories at HKFA

17 Feb – Stephy Tang was surprised after it was announced that she has been nominated in two categories at the upcoming Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who starred in the critically acclaimed film "My Prince Edward" last year, not only will be competing in the Best Actress category again, but has also been nominated in the Best Original Song category for the theme song of the same name - composed and written by Eman Lam and director Norris Wong, respectively.

When asked about her thoughts on the nominations, Stephy said that she has mixed feelings.

"We have read and seen a lot of negative news in recent times, so to receive such good news, it's complicated to explain my mood," she said.

However, Stephy said that she is happy to be given a chance to compete in the Best Actress category again, after winning it the first time in 2018 for "The Empty Hands".

"Thank you for this affirmation. Also, congratulations to the director, as well as my co-star Chu Pak Hong and Nina Paw. I am so happy that the song has been nominated as well. Thank you Eman Lam for writing a good song for me," she said.

Aside from Best Actress and Best Original Song, the film is also nominated in the Best New Director, Best Screenplay for Norris Wong, Best Actor for Chu Pak Hong, and Best Supporting Actress for Nina Paw.
