Stephy Tang happy to be nominated at HKFA again

31 Mar – Stephy Tang recently admitted that being nominated in the HKFA Best Actress category again is a bonus, having experienced such recognition back in 2017.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the actress, who sat down for an interview with ViuTV recently, stated that she had never thought about being nominated for awards when she decided to become an actress and make movies.

"My first nomination in 2017 [for "The Empty Hands"] was very sudden. I didn't even know how to react. To be nominated again this time, I can now enjoy it," she said.

It is noted that although she lost that year to Teresa Mo for "Tomorrow Is Another Day", Stephy did win Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards for her role in the movie.

Whether she would win or not, Stephy - who was nominated this year for her role in "My Prince Edward" - stated that she is happy to be recognised.

Stephy will be competing against Sammi Cheng ("Fagara", "Fatal Visit"), Zhou Dongyu ("Better Days"), as well as Cecilia Choi ("Beyond the Dream"). It is noted that both Zhou and Cecilia have already won Best Actress for their roles in the said movies at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Awards and Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards, respectively.
