'Stay Home!': Health Care Worker Documents Busy Commute to Toronto Hospital

Health care worker Laura Parsons encountered what she felt was far too many people on her March 24 work commute, despite the city’s mayor John Tory declaring a state of emergency amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In a video tweeted by Parsons she rings her bike’s bell at passersby on the West Toronto Railpath, urging groups of people to get out of the way of her cycle to work at one of the city’s hospitals.

“Busiest I have ever seen it on a weekday in the 10 years it has been open,” Parsons wrote on Twitter before adding, in all caps, that residents should “STAY HOME!” Credit: Laura Parsons via Storyful
