Stars and beauty queens congratulate Catriona Gray
18 Dec – Stars and fellow pageant winners alike recently took to social media to express their happiness over Catriona Gray's success in winning back the crown at the recently held Miss Universe 2108 pageant.
On 17 December, following Gray's coronation, former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach posted a message on Instagram from Bangkok where the event was held, writing, "This girl is on fire! You started strong and captured our hearts with your grace, commitment and fearlessness! And that walk... how could anyone forget that walk?"
"Now, you've conquered the Universe! This is just the beginning. Congratulations, Miss Universe 2018, [Catriona Gray]! You have made us all proud! Raise your flag!" she added.
Last year's representative Rachel Peters also took to social media to express her happiness, writing, "Our girl brought the crown home for the Philippines!"
Actor Sam Milby posted, "Thank you for raising the flag for all Filipinos, [Catriona Gray]. You truly deserve the [crown]. Congrats!"
Anne Curtis, who already had a great week after being honoured by Variety Asia recently, posted, "She did it! She brought the crown back! Congratulations Catriona!"
As for Teresita Wyn Marquez, the actress, who became the first Reina Hispanoamericana last year, expressed her pride to be a Filipino woman.
"So happy we got our fourth Miss Universe crown. Congratulations [Catriona Gray]. Beauty and brains!"
