While Luke Skywalker had a starring role in Star Wars' sequel trilogy – well, The Last Jedi really – he essentially interacted with only three characters.

In the latest batch of movies, Luke trained Rey, appeared as a Force projection to Leia before battling Kylo Ren, and later returned as a Force Ghost to Rey in The Rise of Skywalker.

However, Mark Hamill has admitted he would have liked to have worked with more stars of the latest trilogy.

Asked by a fan on Twitter which actor he would have liked to share a scene with but never got the chance to, the actor replied: "From Peter Cushing on, every single one of them. Imagine the fantastic Sequel Trilogy actors & only working with two of them!"

While Luke didn't get to interact with many of the new characters, Hamill at least got to appear on screen with some others in the guise of another character.

That's because it was recently revealed that he secretly played a second character in The Rise of Skywalker – an alien called Boolio, who gives the Resistance crucial information.

Meanwhile, prequel trilogy star Ewan McGregor has responded to reports that his planned Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ TV series has been put on hold.

"We just pushed the shoot to the beginning of next year," he said. "The scripts are really good. I saw 90% of the writing and I really liked it. All this bullshit about creative differences and all that stuff is, none of it true."

McGregor added: "We just pushed the dates, they want... (The Rise of Skywalker just) came out, everyone had more time to read the stuff that had been written, and they felt that they wanted to do more work on it. So they slid the shoot. It's not nearly as dramatic as it sounds online."

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out now.
