Star Wars Day celebrated with lightsaber fights

STORY: At the Lima comic festival, Peruvian Star Wars fans dressed up to celebrate George Lucas' famous films. Fans staged lightsaber fights and seized the opportunity to take pictures with other cosplayers.

In La Paz, Bolivia's capital, fans gathered at the city's cinematheque to enjoy a movie marathon and stage lightsaber fights.

In Caracas, Venezuela, fans Princess Leia and Darth Vader posed for photos while enjoying a cosplay show.

"I feel like the Star Wars community is already big, but I didn't know any of the people here, and I feel like now I have more friends, and I was able to share more with my family," said Daniela Campos who dressed up as Princess Leia in Caracas.

Star Wars enthusiasts mark the day celebrating the space saga by chanting or tweeting "May the Fourth Be With You," a play on the films' catchphrase "May the force be with you."
