RFK Jr. Paramour’s Ex Rages ‘She Lied to Everyone’
RFK Jr.‘s “digital” mistress Olivia Nuzzi’s ex claimed victory in their bitter legal dispute Tuesday after she dropped claims he was a potentially violent stalker–leaving him fuming: “She lied.”
The ex-New York magazine writer filed a sweeping affidavit in a Washington D.C. court against Politico correspondent Ryan Lizza, accusing him of blackmailing her into staying in their years-long relationship; hacking into her devices; and threatening her with violence over a book advance.
Nuzzi withdrew her restraining order against Lizza last week after her ex-beau’s attorney informed her lawyers about some of the information they planned to show in court that would paint her as a liar, according to a source. That information drew from texts, emails, phone conversations, and third-party witnesses.
That notice was given within the last ten days, weeks ahead of their Nov. 19 showdown in a D.C. court and before a judge could rule on Nuzzi’s motion to seal the case.
In Lizza’s rebuttal last month, he claimed Nuzzi admitted she had entered a “toxic,” “unhealthy,” “stupid,” “psychotic,” “crazy,” “indefensible” relationship with Kennedy, a 70-year-old “sex addict” who told her he wanted to “possess,” “control,” and “impregnate” her.”
Nuzzi’s attorney did not respond to immediate requests for comment, but told reporter Lachlan Cartwright “Ms. Nuzzi has no interest in fighting a public relations battle. For insight into her decision, you can refer to the statements in her motion.”
Lizza eviscerated her in a court filing last month, revealing lurid details of Nuzzi’s affair with Kennedy, including allegations that he sought to “impregnate” her. The protective order was extended for an additional month, and the two were set to battle over the issue next week.
Lizza said in a statement on Tuesday that Nuzzi “shamelessly used litigation with false and defamatory allegations as a public relations strategy” and could not defend them when asked to do so.
“Now, on the eve of a hearing at which she knew her lies would be exposed, she has taken the only course available to her and withdrawn her fabricated claims,” Lizza said. “Olivia lied to me for almost a year. She lied to her editors. She lied to her readers. She lied to her colleagues. She lied to reporters. And she lied to the judge in this case. I said I would defend myself against her lies vigorously and successfully and I am fully prepared to do so. But for now, I’m pleased this matter is closed.”
