Star Media Group appoints Chor Chee Heung as new chairman

KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 — Tan Sri Chor Chee Heung has been appointed as the chairman of Star Media Group, effective March 15.

Chor — who will turn 66 on the day he actively takes the role of chairman — was the elected Member of Parliament for Alor Star for five terms between 1990 and 2013.

He also served as housing and local government minister, deputy finance minister and deputy home affairs minister between 2008 and 2013.

He was also appointed parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Transport between 1996 and 2004.

After politics, Chor was appointed Commissioner of Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) and served as an advisor in Melati Ehsan Holdings between 2015 and 2017.
