A stalker has been jailed after he harassed and stalked his victim and her family for almost a decade.

Shaheen Chishti, 54, was handed a five-year sentence on April 24, after he was found guilty of stalking with fear of violence.

He first met his victim at work in 2016 before he started sexually harassing her through email and social media platforms.

She reported a chain unwanted emails and messages to the police, and Chishti was handed a police caution in December 2016.

But Chishti, from Shepherd's Bush in west London, continued to message her on social media and from multiple different phone numbers.

Once, in September 2022, Chishti used a work application to contact her and tell her he had kept hold of all her personal details.

The next year, he contacted her mother and laid out explicit details about sexual acts he wanted to perform on the victim.

He also made threats to throw her into water, knowing that she could not swim.

On January 23 last year, the victim told police Chishti was returning to the UK from India.

Officers met him at the airport and arrested him upon arrival. They seized two mobile phones before he was bailed under investigation and strict conditions not to contact the victim.

But Chishti, of Foxglove Street, W12, continued to do so and was again arrested on October 5 – he was convicted at Isleworth Crown Court.
