RCMP say a 24-year-old woman was killed Thursday in a hit and run in St. Stephen.

Police are seeking the vehicle that struck the woman, a pedestrian, on Pleasant Street.

They said they responded to reports of the collision at about 6:30 a.m.

The woman, who's name has not been released, died at the scene.

The individual driving the vehicle did not remain, police said.

RCMP provided no details about the vehicle except that it would have "significant front-end damage."

They would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam or security footage of the area at the time.
