Earlier today, after some teasing, Xbox confirmed that 2018's Spyro Reignited Trilogy would be available to play via Xbox Game Pass starting tomorrow. It follows the addition of fellow former PlayStation platform mascot Crash Bandicoot, who arrived on the service earlier this year.

Released in 2018 on Xbox One and PS4 (and later in 2019 on Switch and PC), The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a collection that contains high-fidelity remakes of the first three original Spyro games. So that would be Spyro the Dragon (1998), Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage (1999), and Spyro: Year of the Dragon (2000). The remake collection was highly praised by fans and critics and sold well. And now, the wonderful trilogy is coming to Game Pass so even more people can run around and break apart crystal dragon statues like it’s the ‘90s all over again.

On Monday, Xbox and Activision announced that Spyro Reignited Trilogy would be available on both Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass starting November 12.

Previously, Windows Central reported in July that Spyro and his remakes would be landing on Game Pass sometime this year. This report also correctly predicted that the Crash Bandicoot remakes would be added to Xbox Game Pass in August. There is only one game in that report that hasn’t made the leap to Microsoft’s Netflix-like video game subscription service yet, and that’s Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2. Like Reignited, that game was also a collection of remakes, and was also really good.

The rollout of Activision Blizzard games to Xbox’s Game Pass service has been slow compared to how quickly games like Fallout and Quake arrived after Microsoft purchased Bethesda in 2020. This is likely due to how messy the legal showdown was to acquire the publisher in October 2023 for $69 billion. But now, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Game Pass and more Activision games coming soon, it seems the content will flow.

Microsoft is likely hoping that these free Activision Blizzard games will help distract folks from all the Game Pass changes, price increases, and layoffs at Xbox...
