27 May – Actor-comedian Ramasundran Rengan has recently passed away.

News of the comedian's passing was announced by his wife Kamala Cheriakannan, who stated that her husband had been suffering from an infection to his leg.

However, she stated that the cause of death has yet to be determined.

"My husband had no heart problem. But the infection on his leg was oozing, so I decided to bring him to HKL at 11.45pm," she said. "I was surprised to be told an hour later that he had died."

Mohd Hafiz Mohd Nafiah from the Association of Malaysian Artistes (SENIMAN), on the other hand, stated that the actor had a history with heart complications.

Ramasundram was most known to local fans as Rajoo in the NTV7 sitcom "Spanar Jaya", but had been actively working behind the scenes as well, with his recent work including a yet-to-air travelogue programme recently for RTM.

The "Jangan Ketawa" actor, who was also fluent in Mandarin and Hokkien, had also starred in over 500 dramas.
