Spain gets heaviest April snowfall in 20 years
STORY: According to Spain's traffic agency, up to 33 roads had been affected by the snow, mainly in northern and central Spain.
AEMET had warned on Monday (April 18) that snow was due to cover mountainous areas in the northern and eastern half of the peninsula.
Residents of the Madrid region and Teruel in Eastern Spain were both shocked and delighted to have snow falling this time of year.
The meteorological agency expected storm to leave the country on Thursday (April 21), but another Atlantic storm may affect Spain’s west coast.
