SpaceX rocket leaves huge trail of light through California sky

A SpaceX rocket left a bright trail of light in Southern California skies as it was launched into space on Sunday, 23 June.

The Falcon 9 rocket launch sent 20 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit, bringing the total sent into space to more than 6,000.

Starlink provides satellite-based internet connectivity to areas of the planet that are not usually covered, or areas that have their internet connection impacted by factors such as war, and each satellite lasts around five years.
