In a short video shared on Twitter by the LeBron James Family Foundation, James' business manager and friend Maverick Carter introduced the first look at James wearing his basketball jersey from the upcoming movie.
"We want to give you all a sneak peek at our family member, our leader, Mr LeBron James' very new uniform that he is wearing to represent the Tune Squad that we'll be seeing in the movie," Maverick shared. "I hope you enjoy."
The clip then features James walking in slow motion toward the camera while showing off his movie outfit, which consists of a bright blue vest and shorts with the classic Looney Tunes orange bullseye across one side of it.
'Tune Squad' is written across the front of the jersey, making it very clear which side the professional basketball player will be on when it comes to the court showdown.
It's a big change from the relatively plain jerseys the squad sported in 1996's Space Jam but it's certainly very eye-catching.
The original Space Jam starred NBA legend Michael Jordan and imagined what could have happened to him during his brief retirement from the sport between 1993 and 1995.
The plot saw Jordan being recruited by a group of Looney Tunes characters to help them win a basketball game against an unscrupulous group of aliens, who are intending to enslave the toons and use them as attractions at their struggling intergalactic theme park.
The plot for the sequel has not yet been announced, but we do know that The Walking Dead's Sonequa Martin-Green will be playing James' wife Savannah and that Marvel star Don Cheadle also has a significant role, with the actor's Black Monday co-star Paul Scheer previously letting slip that Cheadle is going to play "the bad guy".
Animated characters Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny and Daffy Duck are also set to return.
July 2021 can't come soon enough.
Space Jam 2 is out in UK and US cinemas on July 16, 2021.
