“How many times do I have to apologize?” Steve Carell asks as the bumbling four-star general Mark Naird who is asked to head up the new Space Force military branch in the first full trailer for the new Netflix comedy “Space Force.”

The clip, which features co-stars Lisa Kudrow, John Malkovich, Diana Silers, Ben Schwartz and Jimmy O. Yang, also suggests a motto for the new organization: “Space Is Hard.”

Co-created by Carell and Greg Daniels, the masterminds behind NBC’s hit “The Office,” “Space Force” promises to be a “new kind of workplace comedy” inspired by the actual Space Force that President Donald Trump created in December 2019. The show is executive produced by Howard Klein and 3Arts, the original producers of “The Office.”

A companion podcast for the show called “Inside Joke: Space Force” will debut May 29 and give fans behind-the-scenes looks into the making of the show with some of its cast members.

Hosted by Yang, the show will run for ten episodes with new weekly installments dropping every Monday and Thursday.
