Portions of southern Alabama were severely flooded on October 6, after more than nine inches of rain fell over the last two days, according to reports.
The National Weather Service (NWS) placed much of the area under a flash flood watch and reported “any rainfall” could result in significant flooding in the area, due to already saturated soil. Scattered showers and storms could bring one to three inches of rain from the afternoon into the overnight hours, the NWS said.
