South Korean celebrity couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin threaten legal action over viral divorce, gambling rumours
KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 21 — Korean celebrity couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin have denied divorce rumours after a YouTube video claiming so recently went viral.
Posted on March 15, the YouTuber claimed that Hyun has a gambling problem and had lost 3 billion won (RM10.2 billion) from failed stock investments.
To pay up his debts, the YouTuber further claimed, Hyun turned to Son for help, who suffered financially as a result, which led to the breakup.
Yesterday, Hyun’s agency VAST Entertainment said: “(The YouTuber’s claims are) groundless. It is fake news.
“We are constantly monitoring the rumours. We plan to take legal action after an internal review.”
Son’s agency MSteam Entertainment also issued a statement: “This is obviously fake news. We are constantly monitoring (the situation) internally, and we have already requested YouTube to delete the video.
“We will take strong measures, and we also plan to take legal action in relation to the content (of the video).”
Hyun and Son tied the knot in March 2022 and welcomed their first child in November of the same year.
