Strict lockdown measures came into effect in the Australian state of South Australia on November 19, in a bid to “short circuit” a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Schools have been shut down, restaurants, cafes and pubs closed, and weddings and funerals banned for the next week. The new restrictions came into effect at 12 am on Thursday, after a COVID-19 cluster in Adelaide.
