Harry Kane is giving Tottenham every chance to convince him extending his stay is the right call, though whether he leaves to join one of Man Utd, PSG or Bayern Munich could hinge on a huge Daniel Levy decision, TEAMtalk understands.

Following what can only be described as a chastening season for Tottenham, losing star striker Harry Kane at the end of it is practically unthinkable.

Yet that scenario is on the table, with Man Utd, Bayern Munich and PSG all queueing up in the event Tottenham reluctantly cash in.

Spurs do not want to sell their all-time top scorer. However, their hand may be forced in the event Kane refuses to pen fresh terms.

His current deal expires at the end of next season. There has been a suggestion from Sky Sports that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will refuse to sell Kane even if a new deal goes unsigned.

However, that sequence of events would leave Tottenham vulnerable to losing their most valuable asset for nothing 12 months later.

As such, all eyes are on whether Kane commits his future to his boyhood club in the coming weeks and months.

However, speaking exclusively to TEAMtalk, transfer insider, Graeme Bailey, stressed Kane is giving Tottenham every chance to make their case.

The 29-year-old is making his suitors wait and as such, is giving Tottenham the benefit of the doubt for the time being.

The England ace is well aware he’s courting a hugely impressive list of suitors. However, Spurs will not give up easily and we understand who Daniel Levy appoints as Tottenham’s next permanent manager will be a huge factor in determining whether Kane stays put.

Former Bayern boss, Julian Nagelsmann is the odds-on favourite at present. Nagelsmann is known as a progressive and forward-thinking figure who’ll waste no time bringing an attractive brand of football back to north London.

Whether the German – if indeed he’s the one chosen by Levy – will be enough to convince Kane to sign fresh terms remains to be seen. But what is clear is Levy must get the managerial call right or the chances of Kane leaving will increase.

“This summer is the big one for Harry Kane,” said Bailey. “Will he stay or go? Even he does not know the answer to that just yet.

“Daniel Levy does not want him to leave, that is clear. But Levy needs to show Kane the ambition of the club and that will boil down to who the new manager is.

“If Levy gets that right, Kane could stay and sign a new deal – but if not, then this could be his final season with Spurs.”
