Song Kang-ho makes drama debut with "Uncle Samsik"

4 Jan - Song Kang-ho is making his series debut in the upcoming South Korean drama series, "Uncle Samsik".

The actor, most known to global fans for his performance in "Parasite", will be playing the titular character Uncle Samsik/Park Doo-chil, while Byun Yo-han will play the other lead character, Kim San.

The drama revolves around Kim San, an ambitious idealist who is driven to turn his country's fortunes around. A recipient of an Albright Scholarship, San wants nothing more than to transform his country into an industrial nation and deliver an American-level of affluence to the people of Korea.

Determined to become a success, San attracts the attention of Pak Doo-chil (Uncle Samsik) a shady fixer who adapts to any situation and takes whatever steps necessary to help him accomplish his boss' goals. Together, the pair will form an uneasy alliance, navigating the complexities of the established system, united by their shared goal of a prosperous future.

Directed by Shin Yeon-shik of "Cassiopeia" fame, the 16-episode "Uncle Samsik" is set to be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar this year.
