Sofia Vergara Arrives by Seaplane at Tropical ‘Home’ in Preparation for Her ‘Little Island Thanksgiving’
Along for the vacation was Vergara's precious pooch Amore and her mother Margarita Vergara
Sofia Vergara has arrived for her tropical getaway.
The Modern Family alum, 52, revealed on Instagram on Tuesday, Nov. 26 that she and her family, including mom Margarita Vergara, jetted away to her home country of Colombia for the Thanksgiving holiday — and shared a look at their one-of-a-kind plane landing on the coast.
She kicked off her Instagram post with a group photo of her entire family posing together — with some even sporting drinks in hand — on the beach after arriving at her vacation home, Casa Chipi Chipi, by seaplane. Additional photos showed the airplane staff carrying her family from the plane over the water and onto dry sand.
A final photo showed the actress in a lengthy green dress and sunglasses heading further on to shore with a drink in one hand and her pooch Amore in the other. The rest of her family could be seen trailing behind her and their luggage could also be seen on the shore near the seaplane.
“This morning landing home for a little Island thanksgiving 🦃 #casachipichipi🐚🦀,” she captioned the photos.
The America’s Got Talent judge also shared some glimpses of her vacation and the delicious food that she shared with family and friends on her Instagram Stories. In one snap, she showed a look at her Thanksgiving plate, which included fried fish, coleslaw, potatoes and lemons. A plate of curly fries could also be seen on the side.
In another picture, Vergara, in a long blue dress with peacock motifs, and a younger family member could be seen eating empanadas. She showed a plate full of the tasty treats with some salsa sauce next to it as she smiled up at the camera.

She wrote over the photo, “Burnos dias.”
She also shared a shot relaxing with her feet up on the table and Amore on her lap. Tropical palm leaves could be seen in the background with blue skies. Amore also got to explore the island a bit, as the pooch was also snapped on top of a wooden carving alongside Vergara’s family member.

The rest and relaxation caps a busy year for the actress, who starred in and produced Griselda, which was nominated at the Emmy Awards 2024. Following her nomination for the Netflix series, Vergara said in a statement that it was an "incredible honor" to be recognized.
“Wow. Griselda was my first dramatic role ever, and it took us 15 years to bring her to life. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who was a part of this series. I could have never done this without my director Andres Baiz, my costar Alberto Guerra, Eric Newman and the full creative team, my partner and producer Luis Balaguer, Ted Sarandos, Bela Bajaria, and their team at Netflix, and all the amazing cast and crew," she said at the time.
"I never dreamed that after Modern Family I would be able to work on something as special as Griselda," she added.
