Snowfall Arrives Early on Japan's Iconic Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji in Japan recorded its first snowfall of the year on September 7, according to the local meteorological office.

This footage, uploaded by Twitter user @koriotsu, shows a view of the mountain from the nearby peak of Mount Ashigara.

Kofu Local Meteorological Office observed the first snowfall of Mount Fuji on Tuesday, 21 days earlier than last year’s first snowfall. The earliest snow recorded on Mount Fuji happened on August 9 in 2008. Credit: @koriotsu via Storyful
