A snow squall rolled into Steamboat Springs, Colorado, on December 26 as hazardous winter weather swept the state’s northwest.
Windy and snowy conditions were expected to bring whiteout conditions for travelers in western Colorado’s high country.
Safety concerns amid the severe weather forced the temporary closure of the US 40 Highway between Steamboat Springs and Kremmling.
