Snow Piles High Along Interstate 80 in California

A strong winter storm forced partial highway shutdowns in Northern California’s Placer County on Tuesday, December 28, as ongoing heavy snowfall affected the area.

Video taken by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office shows workers with CalTrans District 3 removing snow on Interstate 80, which remained closed on Tuesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab, it was a record month for snow, with 202 inches so far in December.
